The Nikon D3 combines its new proprietary FX-format sensor with 12.1 effective megapixel resolution for striking tonal gradation and detail. By enlarging the size of each pixel, Nikon's new FX format captures light with unrivaled accuracy, which in turn contributes to a significantly higher signal-to-noise ratio and wider dynamic range. The rich initial data of each image is then swiftly and carefully routed through a 12-channel parallel readout for 14-bit A/D conversion to serve two professional demands - speed and precision. Adding to its versatility, the D3 also offers you three different formats - FX format, DX format and 5:4 - delivering all the options to respond to a vast range of shooting situations.
The images are presented on a CD/DVD with a preview system to help you choose your images. They can also be seen as a slide-show.The chosen images are then accessed in their high resolution format from the disc. The CDs are totally cross-platform and we keep an archive of jobs so that further copies can be obtained if necessary (for a small fee). Inexpensive prints on true "photographic" paper are available from a recommended laboratory. For overseas clients a mini-web of the shoot is made & the chosen hi-res images are then uploaded to my server (or the clients') ready for download.
The combination of the state-of-the-art Apple 23" LCD SWOP -certified monitor regularly profiled using the Gretag Macbeth EyeOne calibrator ensures that we only supply you with totally colour-accurate images. Clients should also ensure the integrity of their monitor display...otherwise they cannot be sure that the image they see on their screen accurately represent the colours encoded in the image. This is vital: otherwise adjustments could be made on the basis of false perceptions. For an explanation of colour management see the EyeOne website.
